Robert King
Biography
Robert is an Aviation Safety professional with more than decade of experience in Part 121 and Part 135 operations. Currently, as the Director of Safety for UPS Flight Forward (UPSFF), Robert oversees the FAA-accepted Safety Management System (SMS) for the more than three hundred monthly commercial UAS flights conducted by Flight Forward. Robert is also the coordinator for the Aviation Safety Action Program at UPSFF, the first such program in the UAS industry. In addition to the SMS, Robert is the Designated Employer Representative (DER) managing the Drug & Alcohol Compliance program at UPSFF. Over the last several years Robert has participated in many industry working groups and advisory committees that have helped shape the future of sUAS, AAM, and the broader aviation safety landscape. Before joining Flight Forward, Robert was an integral part of UPS Airlines’ SMS as the Flight Data Analyst. Working within Airline Safety, Robert coordinated the analysis of more than one million UPS flights over more than six years. During this time, he gained experience in incident and accident investigations, root cause analysis, and human factors analysis.
