George Kondreck

Biography

George E. Kondreck, Jr. was the Reliability, Maintainability, Supportability, and System Safety (RMSS) Section Manager at Raytheon and System Safety Engineer for 11 years. Before that, Mr. Kondreck spent twenty-three years as a System Safety Engineer at the Boeing Company, formerly Hughes Aircraft Company. Mr. Kondreck is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Safety Engineering in California. Mr. Kondreck is a member of the American Helicopter Society, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and Marine Memorial Club.

Mr. Kondreck holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Mathematics Major from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters of Science in Systems and Industrial Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Kondreck’s experience is as a systems engineer dealing with safety requirements on Military and Commercial Satellites, Advanced Tactical and Strategic Radars, Missiles, and Electro-Optical Systems. He has extensive experience in satellite-to-launch vehicle integration and launch operations, including operations involving the Titan, Atlas, Delta, Ariane, Sea Launch Proton expendable vehicles, and the Space Shuttle.

Mr. Kondreck served with the United States Marine Corps on active duty for ten years and in the Reserves for another six years. His last assignment was as the Aviation Safety Officer and Search and Rescue Pilot at Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe, Hawaii. He also served as a helicopter pilot and Aviation Safety Officer (AVO) for HMM-265, based at Kaneohe. During that tour, he completed three cruises to the Western Pacific. As the AVO for HMM-265, he completed approximately 150 mishap investigations and reports.

Previous experience with the Marine Corps included positions as a Pilot Training Officer, Classified Material Control Custodian, and COMSEC Officer. Captain Kondreck was a qualified Weapons Tactics Instructor and Night Vision Goggle Instructor.
