Robert King

Biography

Robert is an Aviation Safety professional with more than decade of experience supporting Part 121 and Part 135 operations. As a Commercial Solutions Advisor for the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), he helps clients build scalable operational foundations with an emphasis on Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Previously, Robert served as Director of Safety for a Part 135 UAS operator, where he developed and led the FAA-accepted SMS—the first for a UAS air carrier—supporting more than 300 monthly commercial UAS flights. His expertise includes voluntary safety programs, including FOQA and ASAP, as well as accident and incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and human factors. Over the last several years Robert has participated in many industry working groups and advisory committees that have helped shape the future of UAS, AAM, and the broader aviation safety landscape.
