Los Angeles Police Department – Intermittent support

  • Specialist Reserve Officer from 1985 to 2001, assigned to the Special Weapons and Tactics team.
  • Provided photographic / video support to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT team during live tactical and training events, barricaded suspects, high risk search warrants, civil unrest, K9 searches, Bomb Squad response, drug interdiction and seizure, and general crime suppression.
  • In 2001 transfers to the LAPD Air Support Division, documenting events from the air and ground.
  • Documenting air tactical training, pursuits, SWAT high risk search warrants, civil unrest, demonstrations, and aerial support of ground officers.

Government Agencies – Provided photographic / video support

  • FBI: 2002 thru 2017 supported the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), Tactical Helicopter Unit (THU), Special Flight Operations (SFO), Surveillance & Aviation Section (SAS), and other operations.
  • NTSB: From 2007, supporting on-request documentation of numerous aircraft crashes and major rail service incidents.
  • Military: US Coast Guard (USCG), US Marine Corps (USMC), US Army
  • U.S. Civilian Agencies: US Secret Service (USSS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA),Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)

Ventura County Sheriff’s Department – Provided photographic / video support

  • From: 1994 to Present, assigned Search and Rescue (SAR) team member
  • Supported SAR, SWAT, Patrol, K9 and Aviation Unit. Provided photographic / video support

Teaching

  • Instructor at the University of Southern California Aviation Safety and Security Program, From: Fall 2017 to present. Instructing “Photography for Aircraft Accident Investigation”
